Livingston Crisis Chaplaincy, Inc., is a Faith Based Louisiana Non Profit 501 3(c) Corporation that works closely with emergency services agencies in the Livingston Parish area to provide assistance during emergency situations. The Chaplaincy utilizes trained chaplains who have been called to this ministry.

Our Mission:

Our mission is simple. It is to “Serve God by Serving Others”. God has called us to serve Him. Jesus Christ gave us this example in Matthew 25:40b…”Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me”. Our goal of this ministry is to provide trained Chaplains to serve our First Responders in our area.  The mission of Livingston Crisis Chaplaincy is to provide pastoral care for emergency services personnel, their families, and those affected by emergencies such as fires, shootings, floods, and hurricanes.

Our Method:

Our method of serving God is by serving those in our community who protect us – fire and police personnel, and those who they come in contact with. We provide pastoral care to Fire Departments, Police Departments and Sheriff’s Offices. Our First Responders face untold risks and stresses in their occupations, volunteering, and daily lives. Chaplains are able to be there with our First Responders before, during, and after a crisis situation. Many times, just being there is a comfort to those who face a crisis, whether they are a First Responder or a victim. Chaplains often offer a “Ministry of Presence” to those affected by fire, violence, or natural disasters. Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) is a standard of care in the emergency services whereby First Responders are more able to cope with the stresses caused by their jobs, and the incidents that they respond to. CISM Defusings and Debriefings are used to help those First Responders cope with the aftermath of a critical incident.

Our Needs:

If you feel like you would like to help us in this ministry, please contact us. If you feel that you have been called, or may be called into this type of ministry, and would like to assist us, please let us know. If you would like to participate as a financial partner, we welcome your monetary contributions. Your contributions are tax deductible, as we are a Louisiana Non Profit Corporation and registered as a 501 3(c).

Most of all, we need your prayers. Please commit to pray for our ministry and for those that we serve.

POLICEMAN'S PRAYER

When I start my tour of duty God,
Wherever crime may be,
as I walk the darkened streets alone,
Let me be close to thee.

Please give me understanding
with both the young and old.
Let me listen with attention
until their story's told.
Let me never make a judgment
in a rash or callous way,
but let me hold my patience
let each man have his say.

Lord if some dark and dreary night,
I must give my life,
Lord, with your everlasting love
protect my children and my wife.
